Here I am giving you exam pattern for Graduate record examination for admission in colleges of united state below .
The GRE 2014 paper pattern is a computer-based General Test is composed of 3 sections:

Verbal Reasoning (English) (Two sections) 20 questions per section
Quantitative Reasoning (Math) (Two sections) 20 questions per section
Analytical Writing sections (Essays):: One "Analyze an Issue" task and one "Analyze an Argument" task

The overall testing time for the computer-based GRE® revised General Test is about three hours and 45 minutes.
There are six sections with a 10-minute break following the third section.

Paper-based GRE® revised General Test Content and Structure
Analytical Writing
(Two sections)
Section 1: "Analyze an Issue" task
Section 2: "Analyze an Argument" task

Verbal Reasoning
(Two sections) 25 questions per section

Quantitative Reasoning
(Two sections) 25 questions per section

The overall testing time for the paper-based GRE® revised General Test is about three hours and 30 minutes.
There are six sections with a 10-minute break following the second section.

GRE is a General Test to measures verbal, quantitative, critical thinking and analytical writing skills of aspirant's.

Three Sections of GRE:
Verbal Reasoning
Quantitative Reasoning
Analytical Writing

The GRE Subject Test also evaluates a candidate’s knowledge in specific following fields:

GRE Subject Test Pattern:


1. Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology Test:
Consists of 170 multiple-choice questions, based on descriptions of laboratory situations, diagrams or experimental results

Three major areas of test:
Biochemistry
Cell biology
Molecular biology
Genetics


2. Biology Test:
Consists of 194 five-choice questions, based on descriptions of laboratory and field situations, diagrams or experimental results

Major areas of test:
Cellular and molecular biology
Organismal biology
Ecology and evolution


3. Chemistry Test:
Consists of 130 multiple-choice questions, based on physical constants and a few conversion factors among SI units


4. Literature in English Test:
Consists of 230 questions on poetry, drama, biography, the essay, the short story, the novel, criticism, literary theory and the history of the language


5. Mathematics Test:
Consists of 66 multiple-choice questions, based on elementary algebra, linear algebra, abstract


6. Physics Test:
Consists of 100 five-choice questions, based on diagrams, graphs, experimental data and descriptions of physical situations


7. Psychology Test:
Consists of approximately 205 multiple-choice questions, based on Stimulus materials, such as a description of an experiment or a graph
