As you want to get the details of eligibility criteria of exam of Indian Police Service so here is the information of the same for you:

Eligibility Criteria:

Age limit-
21 years minimum
30 years maximum, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs .

Number of Attempts:
Four attempts for general, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs.

Educational Qualification:
Canidates must have passed graduate degree in any discipline of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

Candidates who are in the final semester or have taken their final degree exam but are awaiting the results can also appear for the IAS and IPS Preliminary examination provided they furnish their proof of degree while filling the Mains form.

The IPS exam is part of the Civil Services Exam

It is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)

Educational Qualification:
Must have done graduation degree in any discipline from recognized University

Age Limit
Age limit should be in between 21 to 30 years.
33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs

No. of Attempts
GEN: 4 times
OBCs: 7 times
SC/ST: No limit

Exam Pattern:
IPS 2015 exam consist of total 9 papers which are based on different topics.
Paper I: General Studies
Paper II: Language Exam
Paper III: General English
Paper IV: Essay
Paper V, VI, VII, VIII and IX: Optional Subjects

Selection Process
Preliminary exam
Main exam
Interview
