Here I am giving you some important tips for preparation of Combined Defence Services Examination organizes by UPSC ..

You have to start preparation for CDS examination as soon as possible..
you have to know all exam pattern and syllabus for CDS examination ..
For better preparation you have to solve previous year papers of CDS examination.. you can also buy books for the CDS exams …

For CDS exam you have to solve English , mathematics and general knowledge questions of 12th standards .. for general knowledge you have to watch news and read news paper regularly….
for more preparation you can also join coaching classes.You should study regular and give at least 8 to 10 hours per day for studies Make notes for every subject and read them regularly..

Exam pattern :
(a) For Indian Military Academy
Naval Academy and
Air Force Academy
1. English (Objective type) 100 Marks
General Knowledge (Objective type) 100 Marks
Elementary Mathematics (Objective type) 100 Marks
Total 300 Marks

(b) For Officers’ Training Academy
English (Objective type) 100 Marks
General Knowledge (Objective type) 100 Marks
Total 200 Marks

I have information about the CDS Exam. So here I am providing you information as you want.

Pattern;
Subject Marks Duration

English 100 2 hours
General Knowledge 100 50 marks
Elementary Mathematics 100 2 hours
Total marks 300


Preparation tips for General Knowledge

• You have to read newspapers regularly
• You have to watch television for the latest happenings in and around the world.
• See the pattern of occurrence of the questions
• Read magazines that cover varied topics
• You have to Refer to past question papers


Preparation tips for Elementary Mathematics


• You have to Concentrate on having a clear concept on all the topics
• First, pick up the topics that you are strong at and practice thoroughly.
• Later move on the difficult ones and try to practice as much as possible
• Revise all the topics thoroughly

Preparation tips for Personal interview

• You have to develop reasoning ability, a positive, self-confidence and a cheerful attitude
• You have to Train your mind to think clearly, logically and rationally
• Improve your communication skills
• Try to have a very strong hold over English

• Passage 1
A little man beside me was turning over the pages of a magazine quickly and nervously. Opposite me there was a young mother who was trying to restrain her son from making a noise. The boy had obviously grown weary of waiting. He had placed an ashtray on the floor and was making aeroplane noises as he waved a pencil in his hands. Near him, an old man was fast asleep, snoring quickly to himself and the boy’s mother was afraid that sooner or later her son would wake the gentleman up

2. The person who was the least disturbed was the

(a) observer

Passage 2
A man had two blacksmiths for his neighbours. Their names were Pengu and Shengu. The man was greatly troubled by the noise of their hammers. He decided to talk to them. The next day he called both of them and offered Rs. 100 each, if they found new huts for themselves. They took the money and agreed to find new huts for themselves. The next morning he woke up again to the sound of their hammers. He went out to see why the blacksmiths hadn’t found new huts and he discovered that Pengu and Shengu had kept their promise. They had exchanged their huts.

If I called and she heard me, and came while it was still daylight and gave me a chance to shoot her, all would be well; on the other hand, if she came and did not give me a shot, some of us would not reach camp, for we had nearly two miles to go and the path the whole way ran through heavy jungle.
