appear for the Medical entrance exam?

My daughter wishes to appear for the Medical entrance exam of 2012. I have 2 questions:
1. Will there be a common entrance exam through out the country?
2. Is there a proposed change in the syllabus of the entrance exam?

cet will appear on 13 may 2012 and on mci site new neet ug syllabus is given

All India Pre Medical Test conduct medical entrance test through out in India and you can apply for this exam. For its syllabus I am giving you pdf file.

Schedule for submission of online application forms with late fee Rs.1000/- 01.01.2014 to 31.01.2014 (5:00 PM)
Date of receipt of confirmation page in CBSE for the applications submitted with late fee of Rs.1000/-. 05.02.2014
Date of hosting of Admit Card - Application without Late Fee 01.04.2014

Eligibility :
Eligibility for 15% All India Quota Seats
You must be completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.
