I want to give the exam of Indian Police Service and for that I want to get the details of physical requirements to become IPS officer so can you provide me that?

As per your request, I am going to give you physical requirement for an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer.

Height

Male 165 cm
For ST category - 160 cm

Female 150 cm
For ST category -145 cm

Chest

Male
Minimum 84 cm.
Expansion 5 cm.

Female
Min 79 cm
Expansion 5 cm.

Eye sight
6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye.
6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.
Near vision J 1 for good eye.
J2 for worst eye. The correction is by lenses

Blood pressure (High) according to Ages
Age 23 - 123,
Age 24 - 124,
Age 25 -122,
Age 28 - 124,
Age 30 -125,
Age 32 - 126,
Age 34 - 127.

Now let me tell you something about the some other eligibility requirement.

Education:

The candidate need to have bachelors degree in any discipline form any recognized university. The candidate who is in final year may also eligible to apply but they need to produce all result at the time of interview.

Age

The Candidate age should be between 21 years to 30 years, 3 years and 5 years relaxations given to OBC and SC/ST category respectively.

Nationality: The Candidate should be

A citizen of India, or
A subject of Nepal, or
A subject of Bhutan, or
A Tibetan refugee or
A person of Indian origin.

Selection Procedure: Selection of the candidate based on the written test classified into preliminary and mains exam. The selected candidate form the written test called for the interview.

Written exam: The written exam has following sections.

Civil Services preliminary exam.
Paper 1
Paper 2

Civil Services Mains Exam: It has approx 9 papers, form which candidate can choose 4 subjects according to their choice.

Salary Offered to an IPS Officer

Deputy Superintendent of Police: 15600-39100 Rupees plus grade pay of 5400 rupees
Additional Superintendent of Police: 15600-39100 rupees plus grade pay of 6600 rupees
Superintendent of Police: 15600-39100 rupees plus grade pay of 7600 rupees
Senior Superintendent of Police: 15600-39100 rupees plus grade pay of 8700 rupees
Deputy Inspector General of Police: 37400-67000 rupees plus grade pay of 8900 rupees
Inspector General of Police: 37400-67000 rupees plus grade pay of 10,000 rupees
Additional Director General of Police: 37400-67000 rupees plus grade pay of 12000 rupees
Director General of Police: 80000 rupees (fixed) plus grade pay-Nil

As you want to get the details of physical requirements to become IPS officer so here is the information of the same for you:

Height – Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm

Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.

Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. The correction is by lenses only. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic.

Blood pressure (High) – Age 23 – 123, age 24 – 124, age 25 –122, age 28 – 124, age 30 –125, age 32 – 126, age 34 – 127.

Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment shd not be more than 30 decibels.

Nasal- candidate should not stammer while speaking.
