Eligibility :
You must be graduate in English / Journalism with an excellent vocabulary , grammar and proof reading skills from any well recognized university .
After that you have to take admission in professional editor course ..

for editors you should have a strong knowledge in English grammars, engineering, ..

you will get many better career opportunities in following fields :

Website Advertising etc..

Copy editing is the work that Copy editor does to improve the formatting, style, and accuracy of text. Copy refers to written or typewritten text for typesetting, printing, publication, broadcast or other independent distribution.

Copyediting may include checking for followings:

• General grammar, word choice, sentence structure, and clarity
• Tenses, wordiness, repetition, parallel structure
• Punctuation, capitalization, spelling, headings and lists
• Appropriate voice and tone for intended audience
• Transitions between sections, chapters, parts
• Adherence to editorial guidelines
• Accuracy of cross-references
• Subject-verb agreement
• Pronoun-antecedent agreement
• Appropriate use of modifiers
• Slang/vernacular and sexist language
• Proper and/or consistent font/typeface
• Proper use of trademarks
• Accuracy of glossary, cross-references, footnotes, and index
• Proper use of abbreviations and acronyms
• Proper use of numbers and symbols
• Quotation mark errors, missing parentheses, wrong number of ellipsis points
• Figures and tables mentioned in previous text
• Running heads, footers, and page numbers
• Errors in continuity
• Formatting per style guide and/or template
• Line, page, and section breaks
• Proper appearance of graphics and illustrations
• Accuracy of table of contents and formatting of levels
• Appendixes in correct order
• Bibliography/References/Glossary terms are complete and properly alphabetized
• Final pagination


Copy Editor Job Duties:
Copy editors begin the editing process by fixing any grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors. Also double check that names, places and organizations are spelled properly and that fact, dates and statistics are accurate.

Copyeditor Job Prospects:
Copyeditors edit an author's manuscript. These are the people who correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
