I am thinking to do PHD from the University Grants Commission for that purpose I want to beware about the rules and the regulations for PHD. Can you tell me some thing about the rule and regulations of the PHD program? The University Grants Commission (UGC) of India is a statutory organisation set up by the Union government. UGC was formally inaugurated by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the Minister of Education. For the Universities in India which approved by UGC, & offers PhD, is important that they all universities follow rules & regulations which annouanced by UGC, for PhD rules & regulations, here is attachment, the accachment contains following sections: Eligibility Admission procedure Allocation Course work Evaluation UGC PhD Rules     For detailed info here is attachment.............................. The University Grants Commission (UGC) came into existence on 28th December, 1953 and became a statutory Organization of the Government of India Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy) is a doctorate degree, which is granted by many universities in India and abroad Please find the below attached file for details about UGC PHD rules and regulations: UGC PHD rules and regulations     Phd Eligibility: Masters degree holders are eligible for admission into the doctoral programme. Although, for some subjects, having a Masters in Philosophy (M.Phil) is needed for a Ph.D. It must be noted by the candidates that in some Indian universities, for Masters programme, a specific percentage (or equivalent CGPA) is required by the candidates to be eligible to apply for a Ph.D. For admission into some reputable universities, a candidate must qualify the all India examination, like National Eligibility Test for Lectureship (NET) conducted by NTA. Final year students appearing in the qualifying degree examination can also apply although they must submit the attested copies of their qualifying degree certificates.
