IGNOU OPENNET - Merchant Navy Entrance Test offers an enormous profession in the Shipping Industry. This Exam is conducted by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and Directorate General of Shipping (DGS).

Eligibility

Educational (1) 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) with not less than 55% marks in PCM from a recognized Board OR B.Sc. with Physics as an individual subject in any one of the years of B. Sc with not less than 50% marks in the final year of B.Sc. from a recognized University provided that you must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) with not less than 55% marks in PCM from a recognized Board.

The exam will cover questions from five subjects i.e. English, General Knowledge, Reasoning Aptitude, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Each subject carries 30 marks. Candidates have to complete 180 objective type Questions in three hours and there is no negative marking system.

Exam application forms can be downloaded from official website or is available from the head office of IGNOU. The charge of application form is Rs 100/-. The duly filled in application along with a DD of Rs. 500/- must be sent to the Registrar (SR&ED), Block-12, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068. For the downloaded forms the charge is Rs. 600/-
