Hello, Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test is Engineering & Technology / Science major based test which is conducted by Indian Maritime University, recognized by the Government of India. The University trains students and makes them prominent in the field of Maritime Engineering. The IMU Common Entrance Test (CET) is conducted to check the theoretical ability of the applicant. Duration of Test 180 Minutes Frequency per year Once Score Range 0 – 180 Important points relating to examination pattern of IMU CET – Subjects Number of Questions English 25 questions General Knowledge 30 questions Reasoning Aptitude 25 questions Mathematics 40 questions Physics 40 questions Chemistry 20 questions Eligibility Criteria:- :- You have to be Class 12 pass with at least 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and 50% in English. You have to be Younger than 25 years of age at the start of the academic session in August. You have to be Medically fit as per the standards set by Merchant Shipping Medical Examination Rules. You have to be 6/6 vision in both eyes without any visual aids, should have normal color vision. Indian Maritime University (IMU) conducts Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission of candidates in various courses. Courses or Programs offered by IMU: Master of Technology Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering Course Duration: 2 years Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering- Bachelor of Technology Duration: 4 years Master of Technology Dredging & Harbour Engineering Duration: 2 years PG Diploma in Marine Engineering Duration: 1 year B Sc Ship Building and Repair Duration: 3years MBA Port & Shipping Duration: 2 years LLM (Maritime Law) Duration: 2 years B Tech Marine Engineering Duration: 4 year MBA Logistics Duration: 2 years B.Sc Nautical Science Duration: 3 years B.Sc Maritime Science Duration: 3 years PhD Non-residential MBA Infrastructure Duration: 2 years Campus of Indian Maritime University: Kochi Chennai Vishakhapatnam Mumbai Kolkata Kandla Port Selection Process at IMU: University conducts a Common Entrance Exam and then after those candidates are called for counseling or GD or PI as per the course applied. Eligibility Criteria: 1) DNS course: A) 60% (PCM) and 50% (English) in 12th class B) B.Sc (Any of these Physics/ Mathematics/ Chemistry/ Electronics) passed candidates with 55 % marks. C) B.tech candidates with 50 % in English. 2) B.Sc- 3 years: 60% (PCM) and 50% (English) in 12th Class For B.Sc in Ship Building and Repair only 50% in PCM 3) B Tech Marine Engineering/Naval Architecture: 60% (PCM) and 50% (English) in 12th Class. 2nd Year lateral entry candidates should have pursued Marine or Mechanical or Naval Architecture or Electrical in diploma. 4) PG Diploma in Marine Engineering: 50 % in B.tech/ B.E course or program 5) M Tech Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering: 60 % in B.tech in Mechanical /Civil Aeronautical/Marine/ Naval Architecture 6) MBA: 50 % with any stream 7) LLM (Maritime Law): 50% in any law degree Fee Structure of IMU CET Courses: B.Sc or DNS courses: Rs 2,20,000/- for Boys and 140,500/- for Female cadets per year B.Tech Courses: Rs 225000/- for Boys and 140500/- for Female cadets per year B Sc Ship Building and Repair: Rs 220000/- for both male and female cadets per year B Tech Naval Architecture: Rs 225000/- for both male and female cadets per year M.Tech Courses: 225000/- for male and female cadets per year PH.D Course: Rs 10000/- per year PGDME (GME): Rs 300000/- for whole course Physical Fitness for IMU Courses: Candidates who are applying for IMU courses needs to comply with medical standards of D.G Shipping Age Criteria for IMU CET: For SC/ST and PD Candidates: Not more than 30 years of age Reservations of Seats: For SC candidates: 15% Quota For OBC candidates: 27 % should be part of Non Creamy layer.
