I have completed my B.Sc. in Nursing from Tamil Nadu and want to pursue further in masters from Delhi University. Heard about Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test of Delhi University. so looking for the details, courses offered, admission process etc from the same.

Important Dates for PGMET Delhi are

Application forms last date 07 January 2011
Exam date 05th February, 2011, Sunday

The post graduate medical test is organized by the university to give the admission in the medical factor. And conduct the entrance exam for the students for all the given courses.

(A) Post-Graduate Degree Courses:
M.D.: Anaesthesiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Community Medicine, Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy, Forensic Medicine, General Medicine, Community Health Administration, Microbiology Paediatrics, Pathology, Pharmacology, Physiology, Psychiatry, Pulmonary Medicine, Radio-Diagnosis And Radio-Therapy.
M.S.: General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics and Otorhinolaryngology.

(B) Post-Graduate Diploma Courses:
Allergy And Clinical immunology (DACI), Anaesthesiology (DA), Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy (DDVL), Obstetrics & Gynaecology (DGO), Ophthalmology (DO), Otorhinolaryngology (DLO),
Paediatrics (DCH), Radio-Diagnosis (DMRD), Radiation Medicine (DRM), Tuberculosis & Chest Diseases (DTCD), Health Administration (DHA) And Health Education (DHE).

Eligibility:
The candidate must have passed final M.B.B.S. examination for MD/MS Course and BDS examination for MDS Course of the University of Delhi.
For MD/MS/Diploma Courses a candidate have 50% marks and candidates belonging to SC and ST categories shall be 40% marks and in case of OBC category candidates shall be45% marks in the PGMET.

Application forms:

Application forms will be available on the official website the candidate must download the application forms from the website and send by hand in person against bank draft for Rs.1, 500/- for General Category and OBC Category candidates and Rs.1, 000/- for SC/ST/PH category candidates.
By post Against bank draft for Rs.1, 550/- for General Category and OBC Category candidates and Rs.1,050/- for SC/ ST/ PH category candidates by sending a self addressed envelop of 10" X 8".

Chest Institute Building, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007 against a Bank Draft/ Banker’s Cheque drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of the Registrar, University of Delhi payable at Delhi.

In person against Bank Draft for Rs.1,500/- (One Thousand Five Hundred only) for General and OBC Category candidates and Rs.1,000/- (One Thousand only) for SC/ST/PH Category candidates.

By post for Rs.550/- (One Thousand Five Hundred and Fifty only) for General and OBC Category candidates and Rs.1,050/- (One Thousand and Fifty only) for SC/ST/PH Category candidates, along with a self addressed envelope of 10″ X 8″ upto the last date.

PGMET:
The DU PGMET entrance exam is conducted by University of Delhi, Faculty of Medical Sciences for admission to post graduate medical and dental courses MD/MS/PG Diploma and MDS in University of Delhi.


Eligibility for MD/MS/PG Diploma:
The candidate should have MBBS from a recognized institute. Those who will be able to complete their internship by May End can also apply.

The candidate should have BDS from a recognized institute.

Delhi University Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test (DUPGMET) is conducted by the University of Delhi, Faculty of Medical sciences, for the aspiring students in the medical field.

DUPGMET Entrance Exams Pattern
-Each Question Paper should be answered in three hours and will be in Hindi and English
-Each question paper will have three sections covering Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
- Exam Pattern shows that the questions will be objective and will test the students in their comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability in the above mentioned subjects
-Some sections have negative marking so candidates have to be careful while answering them and not take a risk.

Syllabus

Part A Pre and Para-Clinical subjects i.e. Anatomy, Physiology and Bio-chemistry, Pathology and Microbiology, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology. It shall contain 30 multiple choice questions of one mark each.

Part B Clinical Subjects i.e. General Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Venerology & Leprosy, Radio-Diagnosis, Community Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Psychiatry, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology. It shall contain 30 multiple choice questions of one mark each.

Part C Homoeopathic Materia Medica, Organon & Homoeopathic Philosophy, Repertory. It shall contain 60 multiple choice questions of one mark each.
Thus the maximum marks for Parts A, B & C shall be –
Part-A 30 marks.
Part –B 30 marks.
Part –C 60 marks.
