There are two types of law courses offered in India to become a lawyer. One is 3 year Law course and second is 5 year integrated law course. Following are the education law qualification to become a lawyer in India. For 5 year law Course: The candidate needs to pass 12th with a minimum of 50% marks. The candidate age should not be more than 20 years old. For 3 year law course: Candidate need to pass bachelors degree with at least 50% marks. Candidates who are in final year are also eligible to apply. Entrance Exam: The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a standardized exam conducted for the undergraduate program in 11 national law universities. While some of the universities conducts their own entrance exam like Symbiosis, NLU Delhi, NLU Orissa etc. Internship: After completion of law course, there is necessary internship to become a advocate. Enrollment: After completing law course, candidate has to get enrolled to any State Bar Council regulated by the advocate’s act, 1961. Course Structure: The 3 year bachelor’s course has six semesters. The teaching tools are used in course like seminars, tutorial work, moot courts and practical training programs..
