Qualification:
The candidate must have passed the Class 12th exam or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 60% (GEN & OBC) and 55% (SC & ST) in the subject combination of:

Mathematics,
Physics and any one of
Biology,
Chemistry,
Computer Science and
Biotechnology

The candidate must have qualified AIEEE replace with JEE and according to it admission shall be made on the basis of merit of score in JEE (Main)-2013 and normalised score in Class 12th or other qualifying exam as declared by CBSE (60% & 40% weightage respectively).

Reservation of Seats:
According to 2014
ST/SC:
From Punjab: 25
Outside Punjab: SC – 17.5%; ST – 7.5%
Backward Classes from Punjab: 5%.
Physically Handicapped:
From Punjab: 3%
2% seats under Reservation of Seats in Thapar will be reserved for the Punjab Government nominees

For kind your information I would like to say that AIEEE exam has been replace with JEE main so now for admission in B.tech at Thapar University candidates shall be selected on the basis of normalized score in JEE Main 2015 and class XII marks in the ratio 60:40. Based on these two scores, a rank will be assigned to the candidates.

Thapar University is one of the best private engineering college in the state of Punjab to take admission in its b.tech program eligibility are as follows:

Only Indian citizens can apply for admissions.
It is necessary for the candidate to pass in class XII exam.
Candidates must have math and physics as compulsory subjects.
Further, Candidates must have any one of chemistry, biology, bio-technology or computer science as optional subject.
It is necessary to score at least 60% in the qualifying exam.
Candidate must appear in JEE Main 2015.
Candidates date of birth must be on or after 1 October 1990.
Candidates from SC/ST/PwD categories are allowed a relaxation of 5 years i.e. 1985.
Direct admission shall be granted to board toppers.
For this, they have to produce relevant certificates.
