WMU Creative Writing Major

I want to take admission for English Major Creative writing course in Western Michigan University. Can you tell me what the academic requirements are?

Here I am giving the information which you must know so as to take admission in Western Michigan University for English Major Creative writing course. The course is offered for graduates as well as for undergraduates.

Undergraduates

English Major: Creative writing emphasis

I. Required entry-level course (4 credits)
1100: Literary Interpretation (4) (Prerequisite: grade of B in ENGL 1050, or equivalent)

II. Required writing courses (14 credits)

A. 2660: Writing Fiction and Poetry (4)

B. Six hours of credit from the following courses:
3660: Advanced Fiction Writing (3)*
3670: Advanced Poetry Writing (3)*
3680: Playwriting (3)*

(* These courses may be repeated one time for credit.)

C. 5660: Creative Writing Workshop (4)

III. Literature and English language courses (13-14 credits)

A. Two of the following courses:
3200: American Literature I (3)
3300: British Literature I (3)
3210: American Literature II (3)
3310: British Literature II (3)

B. One of the following courses:
4400: Studies in Verse (4)
4420: Studies in Drama (4)
4440: Studies in the Novel (4)

C. One additional English literature or English language course at the 2000, 3000, 4000, or 5000 level.

IV. Elective courses

At least one additional English course at the 2000, 3000, 4000, or 5000 levels to complete the major.
The following courses cannot be used for this purpose: 1000, 1050, 1070, 1110, 1120, 3070, 3110, or 4800.

V. Foreign language requirement

Minimum of two semesters of a modern or classical foreign language at the college level, or two years of such study at the high school level
