Fairfield University is a private, co-educational undergraduate and master's level teaching-oriented university. Dolan School of Business The School of Engineering M.F.A. in Creative Writing Concentrations in: Fiction (including literary YA, historical, and short story), Poetry Nonfiction (memoir, personal essay) Scriptwriting/ Playwriting Concentrations within the above genres Publishing /Editing (intern at one of five Fairfield University MFA-sponsored presses or magazines) Spiritual Writing Program highlights include: -One of the few low-res MFA programs to offer college English teacher training for those interested in teaching on the college level. -The Fairfield Book Prize competition, open only to students and alumni of our MFA program. -Study abroad residency programs available in Galway and Florence. -Third-semester students may gain valuable editing experience working as an intern on a magazine or at a publishing house. -5th semester, post-grad options to continue to work with a faculty mentor to polish a manuscript for submission. -The chance to gain important editorial experience working on our national MFA student-led, online magazine, Mason's Road, or with one of several faculty publishers. -Proximity to New York; -Flexible programming -Students may work at Fairfield's Bellarmine Museum, and have an exhibition of their ekphrastic work.
