Department of Music of University of Western Ontario was established in 1903. In 1919, the Institute of Musical Art opened to teach “the art and science of music, voice, culture, and expression. In 1934, Summer classes in music were offered by Western. Following Music Graduation Courses are offered by University of Western Ontario Bachelor of Music/Bachelor of Musical Arts Bachelor of Arts, Specialization in Music Administrative Studies Bachelor of Arts (Honors Specialization in Music, Major in Music, Minor in Music) Bachelor of Arts (Major in Popular Music Studies) Performance Diploma Programs Admission in above mentioned courses will be given on the basis of: Interview/audition - the audition portion may be waived in special cases Theory placement test Questionnaire Two letters of recommendation Required Documents: An Audition Card (mailed to applicants on receipt of OUAC application).
