If you want to join Indian Army, you have to crack National Defence Academy examination which is conducted by the Union public service commission (UPSC) NDA Exam Eligibility -Age group should be in between 16-1/2 to 19-1/2 -10+2 qualified or appearing both can apply subject to prescribed age limit -To select air force or Indian Navy, candidates must studied with Math and physics in 10+2. However, for Indian army, candidates need not to be of science background. -Only unmarried male candidate are eligible to sit in written exam. -Girls are not allowed to apply for NDA. -No reservation in age allowed for SC/ST/OBC etc Physical requirements: Better eye is 6/6 and worst eye is 6/9 with or without glass Running :- 2.4 Km in 15 minutes Push ups :- 13 nos Sits ups :- 25 nos Chin ups :- 6 nos Rope - Climbing :- 3-4 meters. As you are looking for the procedure to join Indian Army, then I must suggest you to appear in Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination. The "Combined Defence Services" Examination is conducted twice a year by the UPSC for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy. Tentative Dates Notification for the examination-- October and June Examinations are conducted in --February and November respectively.
