The Union Public Service Commission conducts a written exam for the recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the services like:

Central Police Forces (CPF)
Border Security Force (BSF)
Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)

Central Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination :

Tentative Schedule

(i) Notification of Examination May

(ii) Conduct of Examination October

Age:
20-25 years as on 1st August of the year of examination.

(Certain categories of persons including departmental students are eligible for age relaxation)

Educational Qualification

Degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification

Candidates appearing in the third year of degree exam are allowed to appear at the exam but are required to submit proof of passing along with the detailed application forms which are to be submitted after qualifying the written test, medical standards test and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET)

Both Males and Females candidates are eligible for CISF and CRPF.
For SSB, BSF and ITBP only male candidates are eligible.

Scheme of Examination:

Written Examination
PAPER-I General Ability and Intelligence (Objective Type)
PAPER-II Essay, Precis writing and comprehension (Conventional Type)

PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL STANDARDS TEST
To be conducted only of students who qualify the written examination.
Interview for Personality Test
