Yes I am providing you General Eligibility Criteria of TET Exam in Kerala State .

1.Student who has acquired the academic and professional qualifications specified in the NCTE Notification .
2.Student who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses . specified in the NCTE Notification
3. The eligibility condition for appearing in TET may be relaxed in respect of a State/UT which has been granted relaxation under sub-section (2) of section 23 of the RTE Act. The relaxation will be specified in the Notification issued by the Central Government under that sub-section.

Paper pattern of TET:-

Paper I (for classes I to V);


No. of MCQs – 150;
Duration of examination: one-and-a-half hours
Structure and Content (All Compulsory)
Subject MCQ Marks
1 Child Development and Pedagogy 30 30
2 Language I 30 30
3 Language II 30 30
4 Mathematics 30 30
5 Environmental Studies 30 30
Total 150 150



Paper II (for classes VI to VIII)

No. of MCQs – 150;
Duration of examination : one-and-a-half hours
Subject MCQ Marks
1 Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory) 30 30
2 Language I (compulsory) 30 30
3 Language II (compulsory) 30 30

I am resident of Kerala and want to give the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) looking for the details of this exam. Will you please tell me what the eligibility required to give this exam if possible please provide me exam dates and also the pattern of this exam?

Teacher Eligibility Test known as TET is an Indian entrance examination for teachers. The test is mandatory for getting teaching jobs in government schools from Class 1 to Class 8.

Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET):

1. Category I: Teachers for Lower Primary Classes
2. Category II: Teachers for Upper Primary Classes
3. Category III: Teachers for High School Classes
4. Category IV: Language Teachers, Specialist Teachers and Physical Education Teachers.

Important Dates: (As this year the dates were gone you can apply for the same next year)

Starting Date to Apply Online: 10-08-2015.
Last Date to Apply Online for Step-I Registration: 24-08-2015.
Last Date to Apply Online for Step-II Registration: 26-08-2015.
Issue of Online Hall Ticket: 15-09-2015.

Date of Examination:

Category I: 03-10-2015 Saturday From 10:00 A.M-12:30 P.M
Category II: 03-10-2015 Saturday From 02:00 P.M-04:30 P.M
Category III: 17-10-2015 Saturday From 10:00 A.M-12:30 P.M
Category IV: 17-10-2015 Saturday From 02:00 .PM-04:30 P.M

1. Child Development and Pedagogy
2. Language I-Malayalam/ Tamil/ Kannada
