The Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, conducts the PhD entrance test (PET) for giving admission to the PhD course: Eligibility: The applicant should have a PG degree with 50% marks (open candidate) and 45% marks in case SC & ST Candidates. PET Pattern: The PET-2012 will be of 100 marks comprising 3 different sections. First section is general for all candidates, Rest of the 2 sections will be based on the subject of their post graduation. For the applicant independent passing for each section is compulsory. Section – A: Research and Language Aptitude / General Knowledge / Numerical Ability / Reasoning (Common paper for all candidates) – Forty Multiple Choice Questions; There will be Forty Multiple Choice Questions of Total Marks: 40 and Time: 45 minutes (This paper is common for all the candidates) Section – B: Multiple Choice Questions on the ‘Concerned Subject’ There will be Thirty Multiple Choice Questions with Total Marks: 30; Time: 30 minutes Section – C: Descriptive type questions based on the ‘Concerned Subject’ There will be five questions out of which candidates are required to attempt any two questions.
