SCD Government College for Boys was set up in Ludhiana City of Undivided British Punjab in the year 1920. It began as an intermediate college providing F.A. and F.Sc. courses. The B.A./B.Sc. courses began in 1932. Originally known as Imperial College, Ludhiana later known as Govt College for Boys and presently known as S.C.D Government College, Ludhiana, named after Satish Chander Dhawan
