To provide consultancy, guidance and advice to the co-operatives for their growth as strong, resilient institutions with thrust on self-reliance and democratic and professional management;

To promote cooperation among co-operatives and encourage mutual trade and business and use of co-operative infrastructure;

To suggest promotional programmes for the development of co-operative ventures;

To promote networking of infrastructure facilities in the co-operative sector, both national and international and assist co-operatives in utilizing the services;

To undertake advocacy of Co-operative Principles and co-operative way of management;

To undertake monitoring and evaluation of projects and programmes;

To promote diversification of the Co-operative Movement in the social service sectors like health, education and environment especially among women and youth;

To undertake organise and facilitate study courses, conferences, seminars, lectures, debates and research in matters relating to agri-economy, rural development transfer of technology etc. and disseminate the same to the farmers and farming community;

To undertake studies and surveys that will assist in formulating appropriate policies, programmes and projects;

To establish centres of activity in the rural areas with the involvement and support of farmers;

To promote and develop necessary field and office facilities to further the objects of the Foundation.

To act and undertake all such activities aimed at making co-operatives self-reliant;
