IAS examination is generally known as Civil Services examination …
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct Civil Services Preliminary (CSP) Examination

Eligibility :
You have to passed any undergraduate Degree from a well Recognized University or equivalent.

Age - limits:
21-30 years as on 1st August of the year of Examination.


Scheme of CS (Preliminary) Examination
The Preliminary Examination consists of two papers of objective type (multiple-choice questions) carrying a maximum of 400 marks.

General Studies Paper - I 200 Marks
General Studies Paper - II 200 Marks

IAS Exam is a test conducted by the Union Public Services Commission to recruit eligible candidates to All India Services which includes IAS, IPS, IRS, IFS and many other Group A and Group B services.

IAS Age limit:

The candidate should have completed 21 years and the maximum age limit is 32 years. The age relaxation would be provided to the candidates of reserved categories.

SC/ST: 5 years
OBC: 3 years
Defense service personnel: 3 years.
Ex-servicemen including commissioned officers ECOs/SSCOs: 5 years

Exam pattern:

Prelim exam:

II (Aptitude/CSAT) 60 Minutes 80 200
Total 400

Main Exam pattern:

A (Qualifying) From the list one of the Indian Language candidates choose 300

I General Studies-I (Geography of the world, Indian Culture, History) 250
II General Studies-II (International Relations, Polity, Governance, Constitution, Social justice) 250
III General Studies-II (Polity, International Relations, Constitution, Governance, Social justice) 250
IV General Studies-III (Biodiversity, Technology, Environment, Security, Disaster Management, Economic Development) 250
V General Studies-IV (Ethics, Integrity & Aptitude) 250
VI, VII Both papers will be optional subjects (each will be 250 marks) 500
