What are the possibilities of getting Scholarships for studies in France? Hi, French Government/EU Scholarships for International Students » Eiffel Excellence Scholarships The Eiffel scholarship program was developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a tool to allow French higher education institutions to attract the best foreign students for master’s and PhD degree programs. Eiffel scholarship-holders on Master’s courses receive an allowance of €1,181 and scholarship-holders on PhD courses receive an allowance of €1,400. In addition, the programme meets various expenses including return trip, health insurance and cultural activities. Scholarship-holders might also be eligible for additional accommodation allowance. The programme does not cover tuition fees. Ile-de-France Masters Scholarships Through the Ile-de-France Scholarship Program, selected French universities such as Université Paris-Est Créteil Val de Marne (UPEC) and École Centrale Paris may receive funding from Conseil Régional, Ile-de-France. This aid is open to foreign students who are newcomers, aged no more than 30 within the selection year, and who wish to pursue a Master degree in any field of study (except Specialized Masters, Magisters, and MBA). All nationalities are eligible, however, priority will be given to applicants from the priority areas of decentralized cooperation in the Region. The scholarships include a lump sum of up to €10,500 per student during duration of stay. Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Programs in France French Universities participate in quite a number of study programs which are funded by Erasmus Mundus Scholarships. French Universities that offer Scholarships for International Students » École Normale Supérieure Each year the ENS organizes an international selection allowing about thirty of the most promising international students, either in Science or in Humanities, to follow a two or three-year course at the ENS. They receive a monthly stipend of approximately 1,000 Euros and benefit from an accommodation on the ENS campus. About 30 foreign students are awarded each year. École Polytechnique The Foundation of École Polytechnique Scholarships aims to attract high-level international students in science, to support them during their studies and provide advice for their early career projects. A few Excellence Scholarships are given to applicants for a Master’s program who show exceptional academic records and potential. Scholarships on social grounds (about €500 per month) can be given to students who can prove that their financial resources are too limited to allow them to concentrate serenely on their studies. ENS de Lyon The ENS de Lyon and its partners offer scholarships for excellent international students to enrol in its Masters programs in the Exact Sciences, the Arts, and Human and Social Sciences (excluding Professional Masters in teaching) through the Ampere Scholarships of Excellence. The scholarships cover 1000€/month for a duration of 12 months and is renewable with conditions. Université de Lyon Université de Lyon Masters Scholarships are available for international students having a high-level academic record and willing to join one of Master’s degree programmes offered at the Université of de Lyon. The scholarship awards 400 – 800 euros per month. École Centrale Paris The Ecole Centrale Paris offers 4 Graduate Fellowships of €4000 Euros each to international students residing abroad, based on the quality of their application. Sciences Po University Sciences Po created the Emile Boutmy Scholarships after the founder of Sciences Po in order to attract the very best international students from outside of the European Union who are applying and previously admitted to Sciences Po University. The Emily Boutmy Master’s Programme can take different forms ranging from €5,000 to €16,000 for 2 years of postgraduate study or €3,000 to €12,300 for 3 years of undergraduate study. HEC Paris HEC Paris offers generous scholarships to international students from different countries and backgrounds. HEC scholarships fall into various categories: merit-based, need-based or based on specific criteria. The amount of the scholarship varies from €6,000 to €24,000. INSEAD The INSEAD Scholarships are limited in number and there is significant competition for each award. These scholarships are granted under various criteria and fall into two major categories: need-based and non-need based (based on either merit, nationality, gender, professional background, leadership abilities, field of previous studies etc.). French Embassy of India offers Scholaship programme, under which liivng expenses to the extent of 615 Euros per month / air ticke /social security coverage are covered. The scholarship is offered to Indian students enrolled in a regular programme in France mainly in audio-visual studies, design, journalism and French language. The Indo French Consortium of Universities (IFCU), created in 2008, offers dual master's degrees or joint PhD research projects. Presently, degrees in nuclear technology, nanotechnology and synthetic chemistry are being offered. Co-financed scholarships are also offered by French and Indian companies. Applications for the study grants offered by the French government are made through the cultural service of the French embassy in the country in which you reside. |
