im ramya, i have completed my m.sc. in Microbiology in 2011.. i want to do ms in clinical research.... can anyone let me know wat is career in clinical research in india....... am i eligible for doing ms......... and will be the pattern of entrance exam in icri and wat will be the fee structure..........

MS in Clinical Research:

Eligibility:
A postgraduate or graduate in Bioscience/Life Sciences (with any of the following subjects:Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biotech) with at least 50% marks in aggregate/A postgraduate or graduate with Chemistry as a subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate/A postgraduate or graduate in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or medicine/A graduate or equivalent degree/diploma in Nursing.

Selection: On the basis of the following:
Written examination
Personal interview
Screening and selection of students based on merit

Career:
-There is high demand for trained professionals in this field; the pay package is impressive at the entry level.
-Freshers can expect a pay packet of around three lakhs or more per annum.
-If you have a master's degree backing your qualifications, then the amount is almost doubles.
-Clinical research is an industry where experience counts, thus the longer you are in this field; higher the salary you can expect.

I want to know that is there any good institute in India which offer course Master in Clinical Research? If have than what is admission process? What is course fee?

MS in Clinical Research

The Master of Science in Clinical Research is a rigorous program that meets the needs of health professionals engaged in the full spectrum of patient-oriented research.

Degree Requirements

The program consists of three components:

Minimum of 32 graduate credits; 22 required and 10 elective
Clinical research practicum; hands-on involvement in a clinical research project
Capstone Project; clinical research project resulting in a written research paper

Master of Science in Clinical Research degree candidates are required to complete all of the following:

A minimum of 32 credits at the graduate level. These must include the following 22 credits of required coursework:

GMS CI 675 Designing Clinical Research Studies (4 cr), Fall Semester

GMS CI 631 Management of Clinical Trials (4 cr), Spring Semester

GMS CI 670 Biostatistics with Computing (4 cr), Fall Semester

GMS CI 640 OL Regulatory and Compliance Issues (4 cr), Spring Semester

GMS CI 790 Seminar in Clinical Research (2 cr), Spring Semester

GMS CI 794/795 Practicum in Clinical Research (2 cr), Fall or Spring Semester

GMS CI 801/802 Research (2 cr), Fall or Spring Semester
