The Business Career Centre at UBC is there for students in every step of the way. It has been designed in a well thought-out program of professional development and a range of career services that will help you go further, faster. The highlights of the program are as follows: Market Readiness Experience Day Self-assessment tools One-on-one career coaching Mentorship and training programs Experiential learning opportunities Networking and recruiting events Company information sessions More than 50 organizations host recruiting sessions on campus during the school year. These events are a great way to learn about different companies, find out about job opportunities and network with prospective employers. Industry Insights panel sessions A panel of professionals give you a sense of what it’s like to work in their position, company and industry. The career centre hosts more than 20 sessions on all kinds of industries, including consulting, marketing, corporate finance, high tech and mining. Leaders Reception Senior industry professionals are invited to meet 1st Year MBA students at this exclusive, annual networking reception. The event features a keynote speech from a leading member of the business community. Past past keynotes include: John Montalbano (CEO of RBC Global Asset Management), Christine Day (former CEO of lululemon), Tracy Reddies (former President & CEO of Coast Capital Savings). Other networking events Network with MBA former students at one of our casual cocktail receptions in downtown Vancouver. Trek Programs Treks give you the prospect to explore career opportunities outside of downtown Vancouver by visiting a wide range of company offices in Greater Vancouver and Calgary. Student-run events Career-related events and conferences are also run by the MBA Society and student clubs. Job and events board Once admitted to the MBA program, you will have right to use the Career Options On-Line (COOL), Sauder’s jobs and events database. Interview Prep Conducting an efficient interview is critical to your career progression. The Business Career Centre helps you develop and refine your interview technique through mock interviews with an experienced professional consultant.
