Kurukshetra university correspondence m.phil?

According to my knowledge Kurukshetra university does not offer M.PHIL course in the correspondence mode. it is offered admission in the M.PHIL course in the distance education mode ..

So here I am providing you details for it ..

Eligibility :
1. The minimum eligibility condition is Master’s Degree in the concerned subject from Kurukshetra
University or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto with at least 55% marks. The condition of
marks in the Master’s Degree shall be relaxable upto 50% in the case of University appointed or
approved teachers with at least three years service as such.

2. For Scheduled Castes Candidates : Minimum eligibility condition will be pass marks in the qualifying
examination i.e. Master’s Degree in the respective subject.
3. 5% relaxation in minimum eligibility condition will be given to Blind/Physically and Visually
handicapped candidates.
4. There shall be no rounding of percentage of marks from 54.5% and above to 55%.
5. Admission will be made by the Departmental Committee(s) in accordance with rules & regulations and
the criteria laid down for admission

Schedule of date for receipt of Applications, Entrance Test and date of Counseling in the concerned Department/Institute will be as under :
1. Last date for receipt of Application Form : 01.10.2012
in the concerned Dept/Institute upto 5.00 p.m.
2. Date of Entrance Test, except M.Phil (Education) : 09.10.2012 at 11.00 a.m.
Date of Entrance Test : M.Phil. (Education) : 09.10.2012 at 01.00 p.m.
3. Date to notify the result of Entrance Test : : 12.10.2012

M.A. Philosophy

Previous (Annual)

Paper-I: Logic (Indian & Western)

Instructions: The paper setter is requested to set Nine questions in all i.e., One Compulsory
Objective Type Question without any choice, equitably distributed over the whole syllabi and
Two Questions from Each Unit, spread all over the concerned unit, will also be set.
Examinees will have to attempt Five questions in all, selecting one question from each unit.
Objective Type Question is compulsory. All questions carry equal marks.


Unit-l:
Nature, Scope and Utility ofLogic with special reference to Indian Logic Definition
and Constituents of Anumana in Nyaya and Buddhism; Nature of Vyapti in Nyaya and
Buddhism


Unit-2:
Types of Anumana in Nyaya; Hetvabhasa (fallacies of Anumana); Navya Nyaya's concept of Anumana Buddhist doctrine of Apoha Inductive Elements in Indian Logic: the
Concepts of Vyaptigrahopaya; Samanya laksana pratyasatti, Tarka, Upadhi- nirasa


Unit-3:
Logic and Language: Use of Language, Three main functions of language. Term:
Connotation & Denotation; Relation between Connotation and Denotation Definition and
Nature of lnduction; Importance of lnduction; Problem of Induction Hypothesis: Nature and
Conditions of Scientific Hypothesis, Types of Hypothesis. Fundamental laws of thought


Unit-4:
Categorical Proposition and its Four Fold division, distribution of Term Categorical
Syllogism, Basic rules determining validity of syllogism and Fallacies arising as a result of the violation of those rules. Immediate inferences: conversion, obversion and contraposition.
Elementary notions and principles of truth- functional logic; Techniques of symbolization;
Testing validity/invalidity of an argument by Truthtable Method; Statement Forms:
Tautologies, Contradictory and Contingent; Proof-construction for the validity of an
argument form.
