Default RMLNLU Entrance Exams

I have done LL.B from MDS University can I apply for LL.M course at Ram Manohar Lohiya Law University, Lucknow? What is the mode of selection in this course at the university? Do I need to take any entrance exam for admission in this course?

I am interested in doing BA LLB from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University; please tell me, what is the eligibility to appear for RMLNLU entrance exam 2012? How many seats are there for full time candidates?

Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University was set up on 2005 through an enactment of government of Uttar Pradesh in order to offer degree courses in the area of Law. This is one of the best and famous law universities of India and has well equipped campus.

Duration – Five Years
Mode – Full Time
Intake – 160 Seats

You need to apply for CLAT - Common Law Admission Test - the common entrance exam for National Law Universities across the country. There are 20 seats in RMLNLU of which 10 are reserved for the students of UP. For further details please log in to clat.ac.in

The Dr.Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University established by an Act of Govt.of Uttar Pradesh in 2005.
The University is one of the autonomous law schools in India.

The RMLNLU offers a 5 year B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) integrated program and a 2 year LL.M. program.
Those above courses admission based on the all India entrance examination called Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).
The details of the CLAT are as follows:

B.A., LL.B. (Hons.)

Eligibility:
The candidate should have passed the HSC Examination (10+2) or an examination equivalent thereof, got not less than 50% in all the core subjects and English put together.

The candidates must not have completed 20 years of age as on 1st July of the year of admission. In the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST the age limit will be 22 years as on 1st July.

Seats:
The seats reserved for the BALLB course is as follows:

-- General category: 80
-- OBC of U.P : 43
-- Scheduled Caste of U.P: 34
-- Scheduled Tribe of U.P: 03
-- Horizontal Reservation
-- Persons with Disability (PWD): 3%
-- Dependants of Freedom Fighters of Utter Pradesh: 2%


Paper pattern:
The paper pattern for the BALLB CLAT is as follows:

Total Marks 200
Total number of multiple-
Choice questions of 1 marks each: 200
Duration of examination: 2 Hours

Subject areas with weightage:

English including Comprehension
40 Marks

General Knowledge/ Current Affairs
50 Marks

Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability)
20 Marks

Legal Aptitude
50 Marks

Logical Reasoning
40 Marks

LLM Course:
Eligibility:

The candidate should have secured a LL.B. degree or its equivalent from a recognized University with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate.
The candidates in the final year of their LL.B. course can also apply but their admission would be confirmed only after they submit LL.B. results with the required 50% marks in aggregate.

Paper pattern:
Here is the CLAT LLM paper pattern:

The duration of the examination 2 hours,
Total marks for the exam 200,

The Total numbers of questions are:
Objective type 100 questions of one mark each
Essay type 2 questions of 50 marks each

The exams questions consider from below subject are:
Law of Contracts,
Law of Torts,
Criminal Law,
Constitutional Law
Legal Theory

Admission procedure:
Here is the RMLNLU law entrance test admission procedure for both BALLB & LLM course:

The Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University admits the candidates on the basis of Common Law Admission Test.

The candidates should apply for the CLAT. The candidates can obtain the CLAT form selected branches of Indian Bank, State Bank of India and all National Law Schools.

They can download the CLAT form from the website of CLAT.

Question paper:
The past four years CLAT question papers will be available at all the 14 National law Universities on payment of Rs. 100/-.
The question papers can also be obtained by post from National Law University, Jodhpur.
The candidates must enclose a demand draft of Rs. 150/- in favour of “National Law University, Jodhpur CLAT A/C” payable at Jodhpur (Rajasthan).
