Acharya Nagarjuna University was established in the year 1976. It is affiliated to UGC . It is located at Namburu, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India .

Acharya Nagarjuna University offers Ph.D program for both full time and part time.

Duration for both the courses is:

Full-time: Minimum - 2 years, Maximum - 4 years
Part-time/Extramural - 2 years , Maximum - 5 years

Admission Criteria:
-Candidate should have passed P.G. Examination from any other recognized University in the concerned or related subject minimum 55% of marks. However, relaxation of 5% marks is given for ST/SC Candidates.
-Candidates who have valid score card of NET/GATE/CSIR (Research Fellowship only) and FIP (UGC) can be admitted into M.Phil/Ph.D. course at any time of the academic year.
-For admission under part-time programme, a Candidate should have following eligibility:

-A teacher with minimum 5/3/2 years of full-time teaching experience in a recognized Polytechnic or Junior College/Degree College or Oriental College/Professional Or
-An employee having minimum 5 years of research experience in a research institution run by the State Government or Central Government or in a recognized institution funded by organizations like UGC/CSIR/CSSR/DST/DAE and such other agencies.
