Chartered Accountancy Versus Doing Law

Chartered Accountant (CA) and Corporate Lawyer (CL) are quite different.

Some subjects may be found common in both the courses but the scope of the two courses are entirely different. To make a choice between two, you should consider few factors like -

Your interest - CA is about accounting, finance and auditing primarily. CL is all about laws. If you like doing calculations and research, CA could suit you better.

If you like reading case studies and good at logical derivations, you should opt CL.

Your skills - CA needs a hell more dedication than CL. If you can sit for hours studying, you can go for CA.

If you find yourself good at communication skills & logical discussions as your skills, CL might be more relevant to you.

Your motive - Search your motive for doing CA or CL within yourself i.e. money/fame/anything else. Talk to real CA/CL to understand how the profession will help you to achieve your goal.
