BITSAT is an entrance exam conducted for admission in to Birla Institute of Technology and Science for bachelor engineering programs in its Pilani, Hyderabad and Goa campuses. Unlike other engineering entrance tests BITSAT is not a paper based test but an online test. Course offered: B.E. (Hons.) Eligibility: The candidates must 12th pass with at least 80% marks in aggregate in PCM subjects. Also a candidate should have to score a minimum of 60% marks in each of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Application forms: One has to apply online for BITSAT on its website. After filling the necessary details in the online form a candidate has to take its print out and send it to BITS Pilani along with required documents and demand draft. The form can also be obtained by sending a request for the form to BITS Admission Officer along with a Demand Draft. Syllabus: The syllabus of the exam is same of 11th and 12th class syllabus. Pattern of BITSAT exam: The online test has three hours duration. There will be 150 objective questions with each having four options. For a correct answer a candidate gets 3 marks and for an incorrect answer 1 mark is deducted. The application form can be get from the official website. And take the print out of the filled form. The completed application form alongwith the prescribed fees of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- for female candidates) should be sent to Admissions Officer, BITS, Pilani – 333 031. Application form can also be obtained by post from the Admissions Office, BITS, Pilani by sending a request on plain paper giving the candidate’s name and gender with complete postal address, accompanied by a crossed demand draft for Rs. 1100/- (Rs. 600/- for Female candidates). This amount includes the prescribed fees and Rs. 100/- towards postal and handling charges. The form will be sent by Speed Post / Registered Post. The complete application form must be send on the address before the last date of application form submission. |
