BE it enacted by Parliament in the Sixty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:—
1. (1) This Act may be called the National Institutes of Technology (Amendment)
Act, 2010.
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by
Notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.

About Act:

The National Institutes of Technology, Science Education and Research Act, 2007 was enacted by the Parliament of India to declare India's National Institutes of Technology (NITs) as Institutes of National Importance.

The Act received the assent of the President of India on 5 June 2007 and became effective on Independence Day, 2007.
