HRI (Harish-Chandra Research Institute) conducts a regular Ph.D. program in mathematics, in collaboration with the Homi Bhaba National Institute (HBNI). The program is open to students with a M.Sc. degree in mathematics. The Ph.D. program in mathematics is open to students having a M.Sc. degree in mathematics. The program consists of a rigorous course work and projects during the first three semesters, followed by research work leading to a Ph.D. degree. The Degree is granted by the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) Admission Procedure The admission involves a two tier selection procedure: The Preliminary Screening Test NBHM Window: Institute uses the national level NBHM Ph. Admission Exam This is the main selection test for the Ph.D. programme in Mathematics and is conducted at the Harish-Chandra Research Institute, normally on the first Sunday of June, every year. Selection One who score at least 50% of the total marks in the Admission Examination, the top three in the order of marks shall be offered admission into the HRI Ph.D. programme, while the remaining candidates shall be put on a wait-list, ordered by the their score.
