Main Job Functions/Responsibilities

1. Design, development & implementation of solutions to support business needs.

2. Work on all aspects of an iterative software development lifecycle to agreed standards and timelines

3. Establish and execute successful implementation strategies (technical specification authoring based on business requirements, product pilot, beta product, training, practice development and rollout) across key projects.

4. Provision of task and timeline estimates to project manager.

5. Provision of technical design specification for review
6. Ensure customer satisfaction as well as management of
Service expectations including work products, timing,
And value to be delivered.

7. Participate in design reviews for content and usability.

Education, Qualifications and Experience

1. Degree qualified in Computing or an IT-related
Discipline.

2. Minimum 3 years commercial experience, preferably in financial services working with high volume/scalable applications.

3. Experienced in full lifecycle of application
Development

4. Excellent Java/JEE skills are essential for this role

5. Framework experience e.g. Spring, Struts

6. Good working knowledge of RDBMS e.g. Oracle,
SQL Server, Sybase

7. Good experience with ORM implementations e.g.
Hibernate, MyBatis

8. Experience in using application servers e.g. Websphere, JBoss, Weblogic

9. Design Pattern familiarity

10. Good understanding of Unix & Windows OS

12. Experience with C#, .NET, Visual Studio is desirable
