Eligibility for RAS exam

Can you tell me about the eligibility requirement for applying for Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) examination by Rajasthan Public Service Commissions (RPSC)?

The Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) exam is the most prestigious exam in the state of Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Public Service Commissions (RPSC) conducts this Combined Competitive Exam in every one or two year.



Educational Qualification:

One must hold a Bachelors degree of a recognized University or equivalent qualification.


Other Eligibility:

One should be a Citizen of India.

One from other states can give this Exam. But any candidate from SC/SC/OBC or any reserved category form other state would be considered as the General Candidate.

The age relaxation is non-cumulative in nature means a candidate can take advantage of age relaxation in only one category. One cant combine two categories like SC/ST & PWD both.

If the exam notification is not released previous years, the Govt may give the relaxation in maximum age limit.


Age Limit:

One must have attained the age of 21 years but must have not crossed the age of 35 years for State Services & 25 years to 45 years for Subordinate Services.

No of Attempts
There is no limit in respect of number of attempts in RAS Exams provided one is within the age limit.


RAS Scheme of Examination:
The Combined Competitive Examination will be held in two successive stages.
(i) Preliminary Examination (Objective type)
(ii) Main Examination (Descriptive type)
(iii) Personality and viva-voce Examination
