Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the National Eligibility Test (CBSE NET) on behalf of the University Grants Commission for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship. Key dates: Online Application Form Submission 11th August 2017 Last date for Applying Online 11th September 2017 Last date of submission of Fee through online generated Bank Challan, at any branch of (SYNDICATE/CANARA/ICICI/HDFC BANK) 12th September 2017 Correction in Particulars of application form on the website 19th to 25th Sep, 2017 Uploading of Admit Card 3rd week of Oct 2017 Date of Examination 05th November2017 Application Fee: The application fee of UGC NET varies category-wise. Application fee, once paid, is not refundable or transferable under any circumstances. Fee details are as follows: Category Application Fee GEN Rs. 600/- OBC-NCL Rs. 300/- SC/ST/PwD Rs. 150/- Mode of Payment: Application fee is payable through credit/ debit card or through e-challan. Applicants submitting the fee through e-challan have to make the payment in cash to Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC bank. UGC NET Exam Pattern Papers: The test will consist of three papers. Exam Mode: Examination will be conducted in offline mode. Candidates have to mark their responses on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Sheet. Number of Questions: Total 185 questions will be asked in NET which are divided into 3 papers. Paper-I will have 60 questions, out of which candidate has to attempt only 50 questions; Paper-II will have 50 questions and Paper-III will have 75 questions. Type of Questions: All the papers will have objective type questions. Subjects: The Paper-I consists of General Aptitude Questions and the other two papers, Paper-II and III contains questions related to the concerned subject. Medium of Paper: Candidate can choose the paper medium either Hindi or English. Choice for paper medium can be exercised at the time of filling the form. Exam Duration: Paper-1 and Paper-II will be of 11/4 hours while Paper-III will be of 21/2 Marking Scheme: Each correct answer will carry 2 marks. Negative Marking: CBSE is not following negative marking scheme in UGC NET.
