The Medical Education & Research Institute is a nonprofit medical teaching and training bioskills lab in Memphis, TN.

The MERI conducts state-of-the-art, hands-on educational courses for physicians and other medical professionals from across the country and around the world.

MERI Course Offerings

There are no CPR, ACLS, PALS or Airway courses currently scheduled.

New course offerings are added often so please check back regularly for a list of upcoming courses.

CPR Courses

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is a combination of rescue breathing and chest compressions.

Rescue breathing supplies oxygen to the victim’s lungs while chest compressions keeps the blood rich in oxygen flowing until both a heartbeat and breathing is restored.

The MERI’s CPR courses teach health providers valuable emergency life saving procedures that are generally preformed when someone’s breathing or heartbeat has stopped.

PALS Courses

The PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support ) Course is designed to aid pediatric healthcare providers in developing the knowledge and skills required to effectively provide care to infants and children in emergency situations.

These courses include personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics and other medical professionals

ACLS Courses

Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is a course offered by the MERI that teaches a set of clinical interventions for the urgent treatment of strokes, cardiac arrest, and other life threatening medical emergencies.

The ACLS courses offered are designed to aid medical staff in the development of the knowledge and skills needed in order to deploy these interventions.

Airway Courses

The MERI’s Airway course teaches the most comprehensive skills for the challenge of Emergency Airway management.

With clinical test scenarios, healthcare providers can perfect their skills in handling respiratory and ventilator compromise, impaired oxygenation, risk of regurgitation, vomiting, non cooperative patients, and so much more.

BioSkills Labs

The MERI’s Bio Skills Labs will help in creating the ideal scenarios necessary to test and ensure the proper instruction, implementation and honing of the skills needed to aid healthcare providers in saving lives.
