Maulana Azad National Urdu University is a Central University situated in the city of Hyderabad in the Indian territory of Telangana. It was named after Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India's initially Minister of Education, a flexibility warrior in India's battle for freedom, and a researcher of Islam and Urdu writing. The college was built up by an Act of the Parliament in January 1998, with an All India locale. The college has been granted "A" Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Goals of the University

to advance and build up the Urdu dialect

to give instruction and preparing in professional and specialized subjects through the medium of Urdu

to give more extensive access to individuals covetous of seeking after projects of advanced education and preparing in Urdu medium through Campus and Distance modes and

to give concentrate on ladies trainings.

Pro Vice Chancellor

Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, Registrar Maulana Azad National Urdu University assumed responsibility as Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University on Thursday. As indicated by the requests issued by the college, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed will keep on serving as incharge Registrar. He assumed responsibility as Registrar college on February 1, 2016. Prior he has filled in as joint Secretary in UGC and as Deputy Registrar in Jamia Hamdard and University of Delhi.
