Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) Examination was conducted by Anna University previously. But from the few years there is no entrance exam for admission in various engineering colleges. One gets admission on basis of class XII percentage. Important Dates of TNEA 2017 Online Registration Starts May 1, 2017 Last Date for Registration of Online Application Form May 31, 2017 Final Date for Submission of Filled in Online Applications June 3, 2017 Issuance Of Random Number June 20, 2017 Announcement of Rank List June 22, 2017 Commencement of Counselling July 23, 2017 Eligibility Criteria • One should belong to the state of Tamil Nadu and ought to have completed class XII from the state. One who does not belong to the state but have completed class XII from the state are also eligible to apply. • Tamil Nadu native candidates who have completed class XII from schools situated outside the state are also eligible to apply provided submit a valid nativity certificate. The nativity certificate should be enclosed in the digital format. • Wards of central government employees can apply for admissions irrespective of whether are natives of the state provided their parents or guardians have been serving in the state of Tamil Nadu for past 5 years continuously. Such candidates need to submit a certificate in support of this, issued by the employer of parent or guardian. • Admission is also open to wards of all India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers. • Wards of public sector or government employees may also apply irrespective of their domicile provided their parent/guardian has been employed in the state of Tamil Nadu for past 5 years continuously and produce a certificate of evidence to this end.
