The Office of Admission at Bard High School Early College Manhattan is committed to recruiting highly motivated young adults from across the City of New York.

Admissions-

They seek to admit those applicants who demonstrate maturity, intellectual curiosity, and a love of learning.

Applicant Profile

When reviewing applicants who apply to 9th or 10th grade to BHSEC Manhattan, we generally look for:

a grade point average of 85% or above
no more than 10 unexcused absences or 10 tardies for the school year

The following is required of all students who apply to BHSEC Manhattan:


a completed BHSEC math and writing assessment*
a completed Department of Education's High School Application

The requirements for a student with disabilities will be modified based on the student's IEP.

Special Education Information Session

For students with an IEP or who receive special education services for 20% or more of the school day.

For current 8th grade students and families to learn about the special education opportunities and services at Bard High School Early College. Please call between 9:30am-3:30pm to register. There are no waitlists.

Fall 2017 Dates (To register, call between 9:30am and 3:30pm)

Monday, Sept. 25, 4:45pm to 5:30 pm
Thursday, Oct. 5, 4:45pm to 5:30 pm
Wednesday, Oct. 18, 4:45pm to 5:30 pm

Fall Open Houses 2017-

Prospective students and their parents may visit BHSEC Manhattan during an Open House to find out more about the school.

Online registration began Monday, September 11, 2017 at 10:00 am.

Registration is only online. There are no wait lists. They will not be adding any additional tours.

Open House Dates (Registration is required)

Monday, Sept. 25, 5:30pm to 7:00pm
Thursday, Oct. 5, 5:30pm to 7:00pm
Wednesday, Oct. 18, 5:30pm to 7:00pm

As of 9/7/17, all open houses are full. Spaces may become available if someone cancels. We do not have a list.
