The Institution of Engineers of India (IEI) is the national organisation of engineers in India. The IEI was founded in 1920 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1935. AMIE Courses : Associate member (AMIE) – requires an undergraduate degree in engineering and passing Section A and B examinations (see below). Chartered Engineer (CEng) – includes all AMIE, carries certain legal privileges and signing powers Professional Engineer (PEng) – includes all AMIE with 7 years of experience, carries certain legal privileges and signing powers The Names of the Foreign Recognition of the Institution of Engineers of India Are National Recognition Information Centre of United Kingdom recognised Sections A and B of The Institution of Engineers (India) as comparable to British Bachelor (Honours) degree standard. USA Evaluation World LLC., Credential Evaluation Service, USA has evaluated Section A and B of the Mechanical Engineering Branch of The Institution of Engineers (India), India and has found it equivalent to a bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from a regional Accredited College or University in the United States of America. AUSTRALIA Australia accepts Sections A & B pass students as Engineering Professionals for employment. COEPP, Bahrain The Committee for Organizing Engineering Professional Practice (COEPP), Bahrain recognized Sections A and B examinations of The Institution of Engineers (India) in different engineering disciplines as equivalent to a normal Bachelor of Engineering degree of an accredited Indian University.
