University of Kerala (UoK), once in the past the University of Travancore, is an affiliating college situated in Thiruvananthapuram, capital of the south Indian territory of Kerala, India. It was built up in 1937, some time before the introduction of the province of Kerala in India, by a proclamation of the Maharajah of Travancore.

Plan for admission to the First Degree Program [FDP] Under Choice Based Credit and Semester (CBCS) framework and Career-related First Degree Program in Government/Aided/Self Financing Affiliated Colleges/University Institutes of Technology (UIT) for the scholastic year 2017-2018, as affirmed by the University of Kerala, is distributed herewith. It contains general data and guidelines identifying with the admission to the FDP under CBCS framework and Career-related First Degree Program in Govt./Aided/Self Financing Affiliated Colleges and Centers of the University.

General Information

The Choice Based Credit and Semester framework was presented in the University of Kerala from the scholastic year 2010 onwards and all the Undergraduate courses with the exception of BPEd and BFA are known as First Degree Programs. From the scholastic year 2012-2013 onwards, the admission to the First Degree Program under CBCS framework in the Arts and Science Colleges partnered to the University of Kerala and Centers of the University were made on the premise of Online Centralized Allotment. The Online designation process will give the hopefuls, chance of getting admission to any of the Colleges of the University/Centers and to any of the projects of his/her decision on the premise of legitimacy.

Points of interest of the Program and Duration:

The Program prompts Bachelors Degree in the applicable subject. Each Program reaches out for a time of six semesters. The Program of study should be by general participation for the imperative number of addresses, reasonable preparing and different means.

Understudies might be admitted to the First Degree Programs in the Faculties of Science, Applied Sciences and Technology, Arts, Fine Arts, Social Sciences, Oriental Studies, Management Studies, Commerce directed in the Affiliated Colleges and the Centers of the University.

The First Degree Programs might incorporate 1) Language Courses 2) Foundation Courses 3) Core Courses in the Major Subjects identified with Degree Programs 4) Complementary Courses on partnered subjects 5) Open Course 6) Elective Courses and 7) Project/Dissertation. On account of subjects incorporated into 2 (a), there should be a segment of Vocational Course.

The base number of Courses required for the finish of a Degree Program may fluctuate from 30 – 38 relying upon the Credits appointed to various Courses.

The Vocational, Triple Main and Restructured Courses are renamed as Career - related First Degree Programs.

The Career-related projects are named 2 (an) and 2(b). Projects offered under 2 (a) have English and Additional Language and Programs offered under 2 (b) has no extra dialect.
