Objective

1. To enhance practical knowledge on improved cultivation techniques, varieties of economically important aromatic and medicinal crops like Mints, lemongrass, citronella, palmarosa, vetiver, rosemary, marigold, basil, rose, geranium, patchouli, Kalmegh, Satavar, etc.

Course Content:
• Activities and visit of CSIR-CIMAP
• Aromatic and medicinal plants suitable for all 15 agro-climatic zones
• Improved cultivation techniques of economically important aromatic and medicinal plants with
their economics
• Demonstration of nursery raising techniques of important aromatic and medicinal plants
• Post-harvest processing techniques and various methods of distillation
• Disease management and control measure
• Proper storage of essential oils and medicinal herbs
• Marketing aspects of essential oils and medicinal herbs
