Gujarat Vidyapith was established by Mahatma Gandhi on eighteenth October, 1920. Gujarat Vidyapith is an esteemed college since 1963. Gujarat Vidyapith is financed by the U. G. C. (College Grants Commission) for advanced education programs. It was begun as Rashtriya Vidyapith (National Institute of University Education) and was the wake of the Non-agreeable Movement. Mahatma Gandhi remained its deep rooted Kulpati (Chancellor). The Institute gives advanced education with an incorporated arrangement of training instructing from the Nursery to the Doctorate level. The principle objective is to get ready laborers of character, capacity, culture and commitment for the direct of developments associated with the recovery of nation as per the beliefs given by Mahatma Gandhi. The managing standards on which the coordinated arrangement of instruction, from Nursery and Basic Schools to Higher Secondary and from Bachelors to Master, M. Phil. and Doctorate level degree in different orders, is developed which incorporate:

Adherence to truth and non-violence
Participation in productive work with a sense of dignity of labour
Acceptance of equality of religions
Priority for the need of villages dwellers in all curricula and
Use of mother-tongue as a medium of instructions
