The English and Foreign Languages University is located in Hyderabad, an Indian city that is more than four hundred years old. Founded in 1958 as the Central Institute of English (CIE), it was renamed the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIEFL) in 1972

Campus : The University has one main campus — at Hyderabad; and two regional centres — one each at Shillong and Lucknow, to cater for the needs of the students of the North-eastern and Northern parts of India respectively.
