CDAC CAT is a Common Admission Test conducted by Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) for admission in PG Diploma in Advanced Computing, PG Diploma in Wireless and Mobile Computing, PG Diploma in VLSI Design, PG Diploma In Embedded Systems and Design, PG Diploma in IT Infrastructure, System and Security, PG Diploma in Integrated VLSI and Embedded System Design, PG Diploma in System Software Development, PG Diploma in Healthcare Informatics, Post Graduate Diploma in Geo-informatics, Post Graduate Diploma in Automation SCADA Systems, Post Graduate Diploma in Software Technology and PG Diploma in System Software Development.

CDAC CAT Exam 2016 dates-

Beginning of Online Registration and Application for C-CAT: 28th October 2016
Closing of Online Registration & Application & Payment of Exam Fee for C-CAT: 01st December 2016
Downloading of C-CAT Admit Cards: 08th - 15th December 2016
C-DAC's Common Admission Test (C-CAT): 11th December to 18th December 2016
Announcement of C-CAT Ranks: 29th December 2016
Online Selection of Courses & Centres (1st Counselling): 29 December 2016 to 04th January 2017
Declaration of First Round of Seat Allocation: 06th January 2017
Last Date of Payment of Rs 10,000/- for candidates allocated seats through the first round: 13th January 2017
Declaration of Second Round of Seat Allocation: 18th January 2017
Online Selection of Courses & Centres (2nd Counselling): 18th - 24th January 2017
Last Date of Payment of Rs 10,000/- for candidates allocated second round: 24th January 2017
Declaration of Third Round of Seat Allocation (based on 2nd Counselling): 30th January 2017
Last Date of Payment of Rs 10,000/- for candidates through the third round: 06th February 2017
Last Date of Payment of Balance Course Fee: 13th February 2017

Eligibility Criteria

Graduate in Engineering or equivalent (e.g. BE/B.Tech/4-year B.Sc Engg/AMIE/DoEACC ‘B’ Level, etc.) in IT/Computer Science/Electronics/Telecommunications/Electrical/Instrumentation or related areas
(Or)
Post Graduate Degree in Engineering Sciences (e.g. M.Sc. in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, etc)

There is no age restriction for admission to C-DAC’s PG Diploma courses.

Candidates who have appeared/will be appearing for the final examination cam also apply

C-DAC Exam Pattern

C-CAT has three sections (Section A, Section B, Section C) of one hour duration each.

As shown in Table 6, depending on the category of courses selected by the candidate, he/she will have to either appear for just one test paper (Section A) or two test papers (Section A and Section B) or all the three test papers (Section A, Section B and Section C)

The medium of C-CAT is English

Every section in C-CAT will have 50 objective-type questions. Each question will have four choices as possible answers of which only one will be correct

There will be +03 (plus three) marks for each correct answer, -1 (minus one) for each wrong answer, and 0 (zero) marks for each un-attempted question

The maximum mark a candidate can obtain in any one section of C-CAT is 150
