I want to know the courses offered by the Department Of Agronomy of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University TNAU?

The Department Of Agronomy of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University TNAU is functioning in one of the oldest buildings called Freeman building with the amalgamation of British architecture.

The Ph.D. programme was started in the year 1976. This subject deals with field management aspect of crop production.

Courses-

Under Graduate Programme

A total of ten courses are being offered to under graduate students with a total credit load of 20 (11+9) under semester system of education.

In the curriculum teaching, research, skill development and self-help after graduation have been integrated.

The various aspects on principles of crop production irrigation, weed management, field crops production techniques, dry farming, farming systems, organic farming are taught to UG students during their course of four years study.

Post Graduate and Doctoral Programme

This department is offering thirteen M.Sc.(Ag.) courses with a credit load of 27 and 12 Ph.D. courses with 19 credit hours.

There are six major fields of specialization courses viz., crop production, rainfed agriculture, weed management, water management, organic farming and farming system for Ph.D course
