Default Re: Bank of Canada CSB Rates

The Canada Savings Bond (CSB) is a safe and secure savings product, fully guaranteed by the Government of Canada to help Canadians reach their savings goals.

CSBs have a three-year term to maturity, with interest rates announced for one year and remaining in effect for that period. At the end of one year, new rates are announced by the Minister of Finance based on the prevailing market conditions.

Rates

Canada Premium Bonds
New series on sale from 2 November to 1 December 2016 (P89)
Unmatured CPB November series (P59) and (P77)
• Year 1: 0.80%
• Year 2: 0.90%
• Year 3: 1.00%

Canada Savings Bonds
Unmatured CSB November series (S55), (S61), (S109), (S115), (S121), (S127) and (S129)
Annual Interest Rate: 0.50%

Interest rates for Canada Premium Bond (CPB) and Canada Savings Bond (CSB) series and historical interest rates for all unmatured and matured series are as follows:
