The AIIMS Awareness (eLearning) program under Emergency Management Courses of Western Australian Local Government Association provides students with an overview of the principles and processes underpinning the Australasian Inter-Service Incident Management System (AIIMS). AIIMS is the management system used by various state and national agencies to respond to and mitigate a range of emergency incidents. It is endorsed by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) and the Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPaW). Target Audience CEOs, Elected Members, Managers and Officers who wants to gain an introductory level awareness of the Australasian Inter-Service Incident Managment System (AIIMS) and the application of AIIMS at emergency incidents. Learning Outcomes As a result of completing this program, one should be able to: • have an increased awareness of the principles and processes underpinning the Australasian Inter-Service Incident Management System (AIIMS); and • Gain and understanding of how AIIMS is applied in a Western Australian operational and Local Government context.
