Different cultures ‘construct’ illness and wellbeing in different ways and effective communication with people of different cultures is especially challenging.

In the reality of culturally-diverse societies in a largely homogenised world, culturally responsive evidence based treatments are being developed and researched all over the globe.

Although, the CBT model lends itself extensively to the needs of inter and intra-cultural conceptualisations of mental health, the structure, process, challenges and opportunities therein
need to be deliberated and spelt out.

IACBT aims to put India on the global health map and its 1st Conference aims to be make a step forward in this direction.
