The Engineering syllabus of KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) on which the previous year question paper is based is as follows: KCET Syllabus for Physics: Unit Concept I Physical World & Measurement II Kinematics III Laws of Motion IV Work, Energy & Power V Motion of System of particles & Rigid Body VI Gravitation VII Properties of Bulk Matter VIII Thermodynamics IX Behavior of Perfect Gas & Kinetic Theory of gases X Oscillations & Waves XI Practical Oriented questions KCET Syllabus for Chemistry: Unit Concept I Some Basic concepts of Chemistry II Structure of Atom III Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties IV Chemical Bonding and molecular Structure V States of Matter: Gases and Liquids VI Thermodynamics VII Equilibrium VIII Redox Reactions IX Hydrogen X S-Block Elements XI Some p-Block Elements XII Organic Chemistry: some basic Principles and Techniques XIII Hydrocarbons XIV Environmental Chemistry XV Practical Oriented Questions KCET Syllabus for Maths: Unit Concept I Sets and Function II Algebra III Goordinate Geometry IV Calculus V Mathematical Reasoning VI Statistics and Probability Exam Pattern • The Common Entrance Test will be held on Twodays in Four different sessions for four subjects. • On the first day, the test will be conducted for Biology & Mathematics subjects in two sessions. • Next day test will be conducted for Physics & Chemistry subjects in two sessions as per the date and time notified. • Each paper / subject will be conducted for 60 marks. • Duration of the exam is 80 minutes for each paper. • The question paper will be based on objective type questions having multiple choice questions carrying 1 mark each. There is no negative marking in the test
